Medical Weight Loss Program

Extra Weight? Don’t wait.

As the weather heats up, the stores are flooded with swimsuits. Magazines promising you the perfect beach body in just two weeks with ab exercises that take less than five minutes. But deep down, we know the truth. The truth is that weight loss is not something that resolves completely in a short amount of time. But there is medical assistance available, and it’s at Advanced Women’s Health Center.

Medical Weight Loss Program

Our medical weight loss program has patients losing an average of 5-8 pounds per month. Your first office visit is a flat fee of $75, and if you’re a candidate, your provider will prescribe you Phentermine or another medication to aid in your weight loss journey. Before starting any medication, your provider will talk to you about a diet plan and how to form healthy habits from regular exercise. Your doctor will also require an ECG (electrocardiogram) to rule out any heart rhythm abnormalities. She/he will also order lab work to rule out medical reasons that may prohibit you from effective weight loss.

Am I a candidate?

Phentermine can aid in weight loss in conjunction with diet and exercise. Due to side effects of this medication, a screening is required to determine candidacy. Phentermine is not for those who:

  • have a history of drug abuse
  • have cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, or glaucoma.
  • are pregnant, planning a pregnancy in the near future, or breastfeeding.

Once you start the medical weight loss program, your doctor will have you follow up on a monthly basis. This is to monitor your progress in detail, allow for appropriate redirection, and monitor any side effects.
