Permanent Birth Control

When women make the decision to no longer want to become pregnant, there are several options to consider.

Tubal ligation

When “This is the last baby,” then we can perform a procedure after delivery for permanent birth control. We perform tubal ligations (often called ‘getting your tubes tied’) using laparoscopic surgery. Because we use a tiny camera to perform the procedure, recovery time and pain are minimal.

Essure

The Essure procedure is an insert that your doctor places into each fallopian tube to form a natural barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the eggs. We perform the procedure in our office without general anesthesia. Most women are able to resume normal activities the next day. Essure is 99.8% effective, hormone-free, and covered by most insurance plans. For your peace of mind, we perform a test three months after the procedure to confirm results.
