March News Letter, 2016 – Your Birth Plan

Hello patients and friends,

Spring is just around the corner.  In every season, our goal is to serve you in the best manner possible, with the overall desire to bring glory to the Lord.Easter will be here soon, and as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, we’re reminded that spring signifies new life.  It’s our pleasure  as obstetricians to help you through the whole process of your pregnancy, prenatal care, and delivery.  Here are just a few things that make our practice stand out:

  • We deliver at three hospitals: Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, San Joaquin Community Hospital, and Mercy Southwest Hospital.
  • Our state-of-the-art OB/GYN practice and facility are up to date with all current recommendations and treatments for our pregnant patients.
  • We have an on-site OB ultrasound. You can ‘see’ your baby every visit, if needed. We also offer 3D ultrasounds, if you want to view and get photos of your unborn baby in a very realistic manner.
Our on-site laboratory and draw station allows you to have your blood tests in the office at the time of your doctor’s visit.
  • All of our OB/GYN doctors are board certified. You can rest assured that you will be getting the best, most up-to-date care possible.

We Can Help You Have Your Dream Birth!

We make every effort to accommodate any birth plan or request our patients may have, and we assign you a regular doctor that you will see for most if not all of your visits. Patients and doctors get to know each other well before it’s time for delivery.  Our doctors also take call for their own patients, meaning that your doctor will most likely deliver your baby, and you will not be left with the “doctor on call for the day.”  We work with doulas or birth coaches if desired, and have maternal fetal medicine doctors available for consultation.

If your baby needs NSTs (non-stress testing) we have that as well in our office and it can be done at your doctor’s visit without having to send you to the hospital (in most instances.) We offer IV fluid and IV iron therapy in our office when necessary, helping you avoid a trip to the hospital with additional costs and inconvenience.

We are a completely accredited OB/GYN office and facility through AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), a highly esteemed accreditation agency with exceptionally high standards in health care. We accept most private health insurance plans including most PPOS, and HMOs through BFMC (Bakersfield Family Medical Center), and Adventist Health plans, as well as Medicare, Medical, and Kern Family Health Plans.

Call us today to make an appointment.  We accept late transfer patients (after 20 weeks gestation), and in many instances are able to see you the same day you call.
